Description

SiEM-2180 is a water-dispersible, ultra-high molecular weight polydimethylsiloxane dispersion in paste form. It exhibits a waxy feel and excellent scratch resistance. It can also be used as an anti-blocking and release agent. It is primarily used in coatings, paints, inks, and leather.

Application

SiEM-2180 can be used in water-based systems or systems containing polar solvents, providing scratch resistance and a waxy feel. It also enhances the overall water resistance of the system while improving leveling, wetting, and gloss. SiEM-2180 is typically used as an additive, providing significant functional benefits even at low concentrations.

How to Use

To reduce the coefficient of friction and anti blocking:

• Ink:

Water-based flexographic ink at 0.1%

Solvent-based flexographic ink at 1%

Water-based gravure ink at 0.2%

Water-based lithographic ink at 0.2%

• Paint:

Water-based paint at 1.0%

Solvent-based paint at less than 1%

To improve mar resistance:

• Ink:

Water-based flexographic ink at 0.05%

Water-based gravure ink at 0.1%-0.3%

Water-based lithographic ink at 0.1%-0.3

Solvent-based flexographic ink at 1%

• Coatings:

Water-based varnish at 0.1%-0.3%

Water-based industrial coating at 0.1%-0.3%

When used as a surface treatment and abrasion-resistant additive for leather, PVC leather, and PU leather:

• PVC leather surface treatment at 1%

• PU leather surface treatment at 0.5%

• Genuine leather: Dilute to 2% and spray onto the leather surface before drying, or apply by grid printing.
