Phenyl Silicone Resin SiSR-2517

Description

SiSR-2517 is a hydroxy-functional methyl phenyl silicone resin solids. It is widely used to formulate powder coatings which exhibit enhanced properties like heat resistance, weatherability and stability under high mechanical loads.

Application

As sole binder, SiSR-2517 can be combined with suitable fillers and pigments to produce heat-resistant and weather-resistant powder coatings. Pigmented silicone-based solid resins can be exposed to severe frost or temperatures as high as 600℃and still remain fully functional.

Furthermore, SiSR-2517 can be used together with organic resins (especially polyester and epoxy) to formulate powder coatings which exhibit long-term thermal stability up to around 250℃, and short time even up to 300℃.

How to use

SiSR-2517 can be copolymerized or cold blended with a variety of organic resins. When cold blended with organic resins, it can be added directly or dissolved in a suitable solvent before adding to the system. A more balanced performance can be achieved through copolymerization or grafting modificationwith sufficient reaction.
